Learn To Swim with CBSC
The very first level of club membership is as a Swordfish.
From the age of four your child can learn to swim in a fun, safe and friendly environment under the supervision of experienced & qualified teachers. You can watch your child develop from being a non-swimmer to achieving a basic level of competency in all four strokes.
We aim to provide a favourable pupil : teacher ratio to encourage noticeable improvement from their first session.
All swimmers work towards achieving specified criteria throughout the term, progressing once strokes and skills have been mastered as appropriate. CBSC use a 5 tier system, based on the 1997 ASA National Plan for teaching swimming, which we have found to be very successful over the past 4-5 years and produces excellent results.
Swordfish – Shallow End swimmers are entitled to one swimming session per week normally on a Monday night, but may be invited to attend on a Sunday if more appropriate.
Swordfish - Shallow End + members are able to access two swimming sessions each week, on Monday & Sunday evenings. This is an option for those wishing to accelerate their learning and offers unparalleled value for money.
Swordfish – Deep End swimmers are entitled to one Monday session and one Thursday session each week.
We have an excellent working relationship with Carn Brea Leisure Centre and swimmers from their “Fast Lane” swim school are encouraged, when the time is right, to become club members and continue their swimming career beyond learning to swim.
