Competitive opportunities & events
We recognise that not all members wish to compete, however for those who do we are able to offer competition at all levels on a regular basis ranging from fun relay galas to county or regional opportunities. We take a “common sense” approach to competition, ensuring that a good balance is achieved between the level of training & the level of competition undertaken by each section of our club.

Squad selection criteria:
Carn Brea Swimming Club employ simple criteria to ensure that we field the best possible squad for each & every event, using Hytek’s team manager software we can easily create reports to suit almost any gala programme and this helps the coach to ensure that the strongest possible individuals are chosen for each event. Selection for team gala’s is based initially on members personal best time, secondly on gala rules and lastly on availability & current performance in galas & training.
CBSC are proud to say that wherever possible and unless in exceptional circumstances we field a 100% CBSC team, as we feel that this is the only way to ensure the future for our club & ensure that our members have appropriate opportunities & remain caught up in club activity.
